Project “Promoting the employability of

young people on geographically isolated / remote islands”

The project entitled “Promoting the employability of young people on geographically isolated / remote islands,“ DESA-Dubrovnik will implement in partnership with SVIMA – the Association for the Development of Civil Society, the Association for the sustainable development of the island of Rava, Crafts College in Zagreb, electromechanical engineering school in Varaždin, in the counties of Dubrovnik-Neretva, Split – Dalmatia and Zadar, on the islands of Korčula, Mljet, Vis and Rava.

Through the implementation of project activities in the next 12 months, at the local level will be strengthened the social capital by creating support networks, will be encouraged the employment of young persons and persons with disabilities, and will be advocated for the inclusion of vulnerable groups in decision-making processes, as well as to promote the social inclusion of these groups.

Through the implementation of planned activities the emphasis will be placed on the creation of an informal coalition, in the first phase consisting of associations working in the relevant islands and various institutions in the education sector (as associate members of the informal coalition).

National Foundation for Development of Civil Society and Government Office for Associations are responsible for the monitoring of implementation of this project.
